The shaft adapts, not the other way round
Almost all boots are made with a fixed-width shaft and a zip that does not give: they either pinch or gape. Here the fabric stretches as you pull them on and returns to shape, so the same boot suits different legs. If that is your recurring problem, they are grouped under boots with an elastic shaft.
Finishes and heights
There are boots in suede effect — the warmest finish and the one people come back to in winter — technical stretch fabrics and seasonal prints. Shaft heights below and above the knee, with heels from 3.5 to 8 cm.
No zip, no breaking-in
With no zip there is no rigid seam to rub and no part to break. And since the fit is done by the fabric, there is nothing to break in: they wear well from day one. It is the same principle behind the house's mules and backless shoes.

What calf circumference do they take?
The fabric absorbs several centimetres of difference, which is why there is no calf size to choose and nothing to measure. Order your usual shoe size.
Do they slide down or bunch at the ankle?
No: because it returns to shape, the shaft stays where it is instead of gathering at the ankle, which is what happens with conventional wide-calf boots.
