The backless shoe is the Miss Elastic signature: the heel is left open and an elastic band does the work the back of the shoe does elsewhere.
What is a backless shoe?
It is a shoe open at the back where an elastic band crosses the heel and holds the foot. It supports without pressing on the tendon, slips on in one step and leaves none of the rim marks closed shoes leave.
Backless and mule are the same shoe
Same thing, two names. Mule is what it is called outside Spain. The difference from a classic mule is that ours has the elastic, so it does not lag behind when you lift your foot: that slapping is exactly what the band solves.
Backless ballet flats and court shoes
The collection splits in two. If you wear flats day to day, start with the ballet flats with an elastic band. If you need some height, the court shoes with an open heel run from 1 to 8 cm and hold up just as well over eight hours.
How it should fit
The band should rest on the heel without marking it and without gaping. If the foot slides forward, the size is too big; if the band presses on the tendon, it is too small. In the right size you do not notice it is there.

They are designed and manufactured in Spain. Part of the collection uses fabric recycled from bottles, and the lasts are built for long hours on your feet.
Do they slip off when walking?
No — that is exactly what the elastic band prevents. A mule without elastic does lag behind; with it the foot stays held, so you can walk fast and even take stairs.
Are they suitable for work?
They are among the formats that best survive a full day, because they neither rub the heel nor press the instep. In heels, 3.5 to 5.5 cm is the most wearable range.
What time of year are they for?
All year except in real cold. Being open at the back, they are especially comfortable when feet swell in the heat.
Which size should I order?
Your usual one. The elastic absorbs half a size, so no adjustment is needed unless your foot is very wide.
